Clipboard value to variable

Clipboard value to variable

Postby Killbillz » Tue Feb 02, 2016 5:53 am

Hi,

I can't figure out how I can set variable to a value (copied) in my clipboard.
I'm trying to copy three values to variables in one app and paste these three values in
another app. I'd prefer this instead of going back and forth copying data between the apps.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

first you would create 3 variables to store what you want to copy

Copy steps:
1) "Type Keystroke" step of command-c to copy data
2) "Pause" - small value to let data have time to get into clipboard
3) "Assign Variable" - variable selected in "Assign to Variable" pop-up and "Clipboard" as a lozenge in field below. Easiest way would be to have the insertion point in the field and then go to the "Add Equation Item" pop-up and select "Global>Clipboard"
4) repeat 1-3 for more values you want to copy

Paste steps:
1) "Use Variable" - "Use Value - Variable" pop-up set to the variable you want to paste in
2) repeat for more values you want to paste

you will have to put these together with your steps to first access the data to be copied and then steps to position cursor where you want the variables pasted
