shortcut working wrong

Postby capydan » Fri Sep 16, 2016 12:07 pm

I have the F5 key on QuicKeys (4.0.7) (mac os 10.9.5) set to switch to Graphic Converter. Today it is switching to iTunes and starting a different podcast than the one I had been listening to. The F3 key is set to switch to Google Chrome and is not working at all. There may be other anomalies but I haven't discovered them yet. Any clue what's going on and how I can solve this problem? thanks

the F3 key is switching to iTunes and restarting the podcast I was listening to instead of switching to Google Chrome

how many steps are there and what are they in the shortcut that you have assigned to F5?

the problem seems to be the iTunes update is stealing the function keys. Any way to turn this off? The tip on Apple Support doesn't work.

go to System Preferences and click on Keyboard. On the Keyboard tab you should find a checkbox titled "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys - when this option is selected, press the Fn key to use the special features printed on each key." check it and try that. You may have to restart your machine if it doesn't start working right away.
