Count number of lines of text in paste buffer

Postby zimbop » Tue Jan 24, 2017 6:33 am

Does anyone know how to go about counting the number of lines of text in the paste buffer. I'd like to set this number as a variable so that QuicKeys knows how many times to repeat an operation.

I don't mind doing some work on it (not necessarily looking for a complete solution unless someone has exactly this in their archive already) but would like a pointer on how to go about it so that I'm off in the right direction at least.

QuicKeys can not do what you want directly, you would probably have to do it with AppleScript. A good place to get that kind of help would be MacScripter. You would use a QuicKeys AppleScript step and have the Script Result assigned to a Variable with the "Assign Script Result to Variable" pop-up menu in the AppleScript step.
