copying and pasting a hyperlink to a file or folder

Postby polyvox » Sun Jul 22, 2018 12:18 am

I would like to find a way to discover, then copy and paste a hyperlink to a file or folder into a Word document. So let's say I have navigated to a file or folder in the Finder. Now I want to create a hyperlink to that file or folder that I can then copy and paste into a document, so that in the future, when I click on that hyperlink that file or folder will immediately open. Can this even happen?

Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

There is this in the Finder: if you right click on a file you get the contextual menu that has Copy “file name”. If you hold down the option key that menu item changes to Copy “file name” as Pathname. Don’t know if pasting that into Word will be clickable or not.
