How to stop a shortcut if it gets stuck/hangs

Postby jman995x » Fri Jun 21, 2013 1:29 pm

I have a couple of shortcuts that are about 30 steps long and every once in awhile they'll hang or get stalled in "wait for" mode (for whatever reason).
Is there a way to have the shortcut either STOP and/or PLAY AN ALERT SOUND when this happens (ie: "If this step isn't completed in 'X' seconds, then STOP the shortcut and play an alert sound")?
I know there is something to the effect of "Shortcut times out after 'X' seconds," but if I'm not mistaken that lets the shortcut proceed...which I DON'T want.

Any thoughts on how to STOP a hung shortcut instead of it waiting indefinitely for whatever trigger it's waiting for (which already happened and it missed, so therefore is never going to proceed and just stays in perpetual "wait" mode)?

Thanks,

J.

there is no way to do what you want. You would just have to tweak the shortcut to get it so that it doesn't have the wait problem by determining where it is waiting and why that condition hadn't been met.
