Copy text from a webpage form field?

Postby Rob Fish » Tue Jul 07, 2015 8:43 am

Is there a way to go directly to a form field on a web page and copy all the text in that field?

A website I check every two hours, 24 hours a day, now uses Javascript to put a date in a particular field after the page has loaded, and the method I've been using no longer works.

I can grab the date with QuicKeys by going to the website, emulating six presses of the TAB key, emulating a CMD-A, and then emulating a CMD-C.

While this works just fine, if they add or remove a field on the website, I may be grabbing the wrong date.

It seems to me there was a way to go directly to a form field in an earlier version of QuicKeys, but I can't find it in version 4.

Thanks!

your method is currently the only way to get that info. There is a Web Actions step that would probably work but it will have to be fixed for changes that Apple made to Safari. (no time frame as to when that might be)
