define max. time for "wait"

define max. time for "wait"

Postby spookyt » Wed May 06, 2009 4:22 am

Hi,
in one of my shortcuts I wait for downloading a specific file using the "wait for" command. Sometimes something goes wrong, so the download will not start properly. Therefore I would like to be able to set a maximum waiting time. If this time is reached, the sequence should stop or jump to another step.

Doing so, I could make sure the shortcut will not cause QuicKeys to "hang" (it will wait forever).

Thanks!

all the "Wait for" steps except Date & Time already have a Timeout checkbox. You can set the Step succeeds or fails after so much time.

Wait for Date & Time has the checkbox but it is always disabled.
Wait for Menu doesn't have the checkbox

Hi,

I just noticed that (in version 4.0.1) the "wait for menu" function does NOT have a timeout checkbox, but apparently there is maximum timeout. I think there is missing the user interface part for the timeout here? How do I change the timeout value at the moment?

Can you confirm that there is supposed to be extra line for setting the timeout?

you are correct it doesn't have a modifiable timeout. I'll enter it into our feature request database.
