System event triggers

System event triggers

Postby jwiegley » Thu Mar 29, 2007 6:49 pm

In addition to the "app event" triggers that currently exist, I would love to see some "sys event" triggers. Namely:

- After login
- Upon logout
- Prior to sleeping
- On waking from sleep
- After X amount of system idle time
- Above or below a certain load level
- On battery level above or below a certain amount
- Upon (dis)connecting to a network (per device)
- When screensaver is activated/exited
- When keychain X is locked/unlocked

- Upon (dis)connecting to a network (per device)

are you talking about QuicKeys Drive trigger that fires on mounting or unmounting of a certain drive or something else?

Actually, I meant connecting or disconnection to/from specific AirPort and Ethernet networks.

I use custom firewalls scripts (ipfw commands), and would love an automatic way via QuicKeys of switching scripts based on the network I connect to.

it is still marked as a possible feature to add in the database, but I can't say one way or the other if or when it might be added.
